What is local exhaust ventilation (LEV)?
Effective LEV or dust/fume extraction can carry away airborne contaminants before they are breathed in, discharging them to a safe place. However, for any control measure to work, it has to be functioning to its design brief.
COSHH regulations require employers who use LEV systems to control hazardous substances to commission regular and detailed inspections and testing of the system to make sure it is working correctly. This should be done at least every 14 months, depending on the efficiency of the system and the demands being placed on it.
Ensure a safe environment for your workers
Rock Compliance’s LEV and COSHH testing service checks that your LEV is fully compliant with HSE and COSHH guidelines. Our fully trained, BOHS P601 qualified service engineers use the latest high-performance testing and analysis equipment and laboratory analysis techniques to carry out these tests, which help reduce exposure to airborne contaminants in the workplace.
