🔥 Fire and smoke damper testing

In the event of a fire, dampers fitted in ducting vents can stop flames and smoke spreading from one room to another by closing the vent.  Their use is specified in BS 9999:2017 Code of Practice for fire safety in the design and use of buildings, which says: “…any grille or opening through the (service duct) enclosure for ventilation purposes should be protected by a fire damper.”
