🏆Andy hits all the right notes!

Congratulations to Andy Smith, our Head of Sales – Water and Air Hygiene, who is celebrating being part of the winning band in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain 2023. The Ebbw Valley Brass Band competed against 20 other bands this weekend, who had all won regional competitions to get their place in the final.

After months of preparation and hard work in rehearsal, the band delivered a masterclass of the set work test piece of music, ‘St James – A New Beginning’ by composer Phillip Harper. They came away with first prize and an individual award for best soloist to accompany the winning trophy, which they were very proud to take back with them to Wales.

The wonderful music commemorates 300 years since the death of Sir Christopher Wren, who designed and rebuilt London after the Great Fire of London in 1666. It tells the story in four parts – Fire, Aftermath, Vision and Renaissance.
