Rock Compliance Aberdeen looks forward to hearing from you.
Aberdeen is Europe’s Oil Capital, and the oil and gas industry has brought great prosperity to the area. It’s known as the Granite City because of the local pale stone that covers so many of the buildings. One of the most famous is Marischal College, now the headquarters of Aberdeen City Council, which is the second largest granite building in the world!
Aberdeen is part of the historic county of Aberdeenshire. The two boast an amazing 263 castles, a 15th century fortified cathedral, and have a Royal heritage too – Balmoral, the Scottish home of the Royal Family, is just 50 miles west of Aberdeen.
The prestigious University of Aberdeen is the fifth oldest in the UK, dating back to 1495. Did you know that we provide compliance services for many universities, schools and colleges?
But there is more than history for visitors to Aberdeen to explore – there are wonderful national parks, interesting shops, lively bars and, of course, whisky distilleries, as this is Scotland’s premier whisky region.
Next time you seal an envelope and don’t have to lick to stick, think of Aberdeen. Although Aberdeen is now best known for its role in the oil industry, it was previously famous for another industry – paper making.
Scotland’s largest envelope maker was based in the Granite City, and self-sealing envelopes were invented here in the late 1890s.
