Healthcare Estates 2024

At Rock Compliance, we often talk about how we help you down the road to compliance. Well, this October, we’re starting that journey with going down the road to Manchester, as we head to Manchester Central in October for IHEEM Healthcare Estates 2024, the UK’s largest event for healthcare engineering and estates management professionals.

Last year was the first time we exhibited, and it was a huge success for us – we made lots of excellent contacts, picked up some very interesting leads, and generally had a really positive time.

So deciding to participate again this year was pretty much a no-brainer for Team Rock. But this year we decided to do things a bit differently…more information below!

What can you see on Stand A44?

We’re very excited that the latest addition to the Rock Compliance range of water hygiene and air hygiene solutions and services will receive its healthcare launch at this year’s IHEEM Healthcare Estates.

Rock Compliance’s remote monitoring solution is a wholly new approach to checking temperatures on water pipes and improving safety around Legionella, in line with ACoP L8. This ‘Remote Monitoring First’ solution introduces sensors for real-time remote monitoring, replacing the need for engineer visits while improving compliance to HTMs.

In addition, David Baker, our healthcare specialist, will deliver a presentation on remote monitoring in the Water and Infection Control Theatre at 10.30am on Day 1. He’ll be covering the many benefits of remote monitoring, including:

  • Accurate real-time water temperature monitoring
  • Saving energy by reducing site visits and improving efficiency
  • Unlocking future potential for even better Legionella control

It’s sure to be a very informative and helpful talk, so do try to join us there.

Visitors to stand A44 will also be able to experience a Copper and Silver Ionisation Unit, a method of Legionella control that’s already popular throughout the healthcare sector, and see our Closed System Filtration Units at first hand.

We know there will be lots going on throughout the two days, but we hope if you’re attending that you’ll make time to visit us – and pick up a special Rock Compliance Manchester Bee goody bag, of course!

2024 – a different journey

To paraphrase the great Tony Wilson (or not, depending on your source), we’re exhibiting in Manchester, so we wanted to do things differently.

As soon as we started planning for this year’s IHEEM Healthcare Estates event, we knew we wanted everything to be as environmentally-friendly as possible. Making responsible choices from the start means that this is an inherent part of our planning and execution, rather than an afterthought, and gives it the focus it deserves.

We know we’ve still got a long way to go, but we’ve made some really positive choices and we want to share them with you here:

  • Travel – We’ll make every effort to travel up together or use public transport rather than taking lots of cars. David is the designated driver, as he has an electric car.
  • Accommodation – We’re staying in a local hotel just opposite the arena, reducing the miles we travel as well as supporting a local business.
  • Stand – The new exhibition stand is manufactured from eco-friendly stock back wall panels, made of a wood fibreboard created from sawmill byproducts and responsibly managed forests with PEFC/FSC certification. It’s a sustainable, healthy and responsible alternative that uses an adhesive which doesn’t interfere with the food chain. The panels are reused per job, so not dumped or burnt after a single use. Where possible, any wood items that can’t be reused are cut down and donated to local schools for wood workshops. The paint used on the stand contains no VOCs.
  • Brochures – We’ve cut right back on the amount of paperwork on the stand, instead using handouts left over from last year or sharing QR codes to the relevant website pages. Any printing we are having done is on recycled paper, using environmentally-friendly inks.
  • Giveaways – We’ve declared a ban on cheap giveaways that end up in landfill! And really, does anyone need more pens?!

This year, we decided to have high-quality, sustainable giveaways designed around the famous Manchester worker bee. Bees need clean air and water, and at Rock Compliance, we’re all about that, so it’s a natural partnership!

Our giveaway bags contain locally-made honey, chocolates and soap, made by artisanal producers who really value our support. They come with a postcard printed on paper impregnated with wildflower seeds that can be planted after reading.

Our branded eco umbrellas with a lovely bamboo handle mean you can be Protected by Rock Compliance in the unpredictable Manchester weather – to get one, book a time for a chat with one of the team.

And finally, Rock Compliance offers nationwide coverage, and we decided to celebrate this with sweets beautifully packaged in little Rock Compliance delivery vans, made of recycled card, of course.

With lovely sustainable, high-quality treats like these, we think everyone will make Stand A44 their first stop.

Thank you to our fabulous local suppliers:
