Have you reacted to the release of BS 8580-2?

Are you aware that a Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Risk Assessment (PARA) is required to go above and beyond the scope of an existing Legionella Risk Assessment (LRA) to identify additional hazards?  The assessments are a multi-disciplinary approach to identify risk, but have you carried out an engineering risk assessment to identify potential engineering factors that can lead to Pseudomonas growth?  This is a requirement to protect the most vulnerable and a vital piece of work to help keep your sites safe.  BS 8580-2 says, “This is especially important in healthcare – Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is recognised as the leading cause of infections in healthcare settings, which can be life threatening… Effective risk assessments are therefore essential to identify risks.”
